Kingsoft Office Group, developer of WPS Office, saw revenue surging to 2.2 billion yuan (US$300 million) in H1, with year-on-year growth of 21.2 percent. Net income attributable to ordinary equity holders was up 15.3 percent.
In H1, operating expenses totaled 300 million yuan, up 13 percent, driven by server costs, purchasing expenses, and settlement outlays. Sales expenses popped up by 33.7 percent.
Kingsoft has diversified and in the face of declining PC shipments has demonstrated resilient growth. Monthly active users are just under 600 million, up only 2.5 percent, but paying subscribers are now well over 30 million, a 16.4-percent increase.
