Alibaba's Beijing headquarters nearing completion

The Beijing headquarters of tech giant Alibaba Group is expected to complete construction in October and some 19,000 employees will start working at the facility from early 2024, the company said on Monday. Once completed, the Beijing site will serve as one of Alibaba’s dual headquarters, along with Hangzhou. Alibaba’s healthcare, entertainment and digital media businesses will be moved to the Beijing headquarters. Alibaba will soon start the construction of the second phase of the Beijing headquarters, which will house the tech giant’s AI unit and R&D institute.
