At the 2023 Huawei Developer Conference, YU Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's intelligent automotive solutions, unveiled HarmonyOS4.
The system has upgraded features including enhanced security and greater personalization. HarmonyOS now runs on 700 million devices, including cars and smartphones.
With HarmonyOS4, games on a smartphone can be transferred to the cabin screen through direct access to smartphone applications on the vehicle system.
Seres, the automaker working with Huawei on the AITO EV project, has already announced that the M9 will be equipped with OS4 and with the launch expected in Q4.
Smart cabins and intelligent driving are two major focal points of Huawei's efforts in automotive intelligence and the Harmony cabin is an important selling point. A user survey from Huawei's retail store revealed that among the owners of the AITO M5 and M7, around 90 percent were most satisfied with the Harmony cabin.
HarmonyOS4 has also incorporated large language models for an enhanced AI experience.
