Shandong Lanxiang Education Technology Group Co., Ltd. has been sanctioned for failure to release its annual reports on time.
Established in April 2021, Lanxiang Ed-Tech's legal representative is RONG Lanxiang, president of Lan Xiang Technician College, a private vocational and technical school approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
Rong expanded the business into the real estate sector, with Shandong Lanxiang Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., established in 2004, and a commercial residential project developed in 2013.
As the company grew, the relationship between Rong and his wife, KONG Suying, deteriorated. In 2007, Kong accused Rong of domestic violence, the beginning of more than a decade of drama. Incidents of violence and contract disputes resulted in numerous crises for the tech school. The company has been involved in 293 litigations, and enrollments have drastically declined.
In 2014, during their divorce proceedings, real estate became the focus of the couple’s dispute. The court ruled that the company was not joint property, and Kong was fined over 200 thousand yuan (US$280,000). From 2020 to 2022, Kong continued to make complaints against Rong.
Beyond domestic troubles, Lanxiang also faces challenges from a changing economy. "Excavator training" was once Lan Xiang College's renowned major, but with a decreasing demand, the need for training has also declined.
After more than a decade of disputes, both the educational and real estate businesses of Lanxiang have been severely affected. Rebuilding the institution's reputation and adjusting its courses are top priorities.
