Century Sage Scientific (CSS) has completed a rebranding process and changed its name to “Be Friends Holding Limited.”
CSS Group has acquired Making Friends, a multi-channel network backed by Smartisan founder LUO Yonghao, to allow a backdoor listing.
Making Friends has a strong presence in the live-streaming industry, particularly on Douyin. Over the past three years, the company has expanded overseas.
Luo has lately stepped back from Making Friends. In 2001, Luo started his career at New Oriental Education and Technology – China’s largest English education chain at the time. His teaching style earned him a cult following and he is still well-known for his eccentricity and comments on trending topics. Luo's public speeches often go viral.
In 2020, Luo began a live-streaming career that quickly established him as a very serious player in the influencer matrix. Before his live-streaming break, Luo founded Bullog.cn – a blog aggregator known for its controversial content which was shut down in 2009. In 2012, he launched the Smartisan phone and operating system. In 2018, Smartisan launched Bullet Message, an overnight failure intended to rival WeChat.
