Chinese phone maker Honor is exploring ways of harnessing large language models on its devices.
CEO ZHAO Ming told the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2023 that Honor aims to use LLMs to create personalized, user-friendly experiences while prioritizing privacy protection.
The company’s AI is ready, Zhao said, for natural interactions and complex tasks.
Zhao also highlighted Honor’s foldable screens as an opportunity to compete with Apple. Honor plans to release a revolutionary foldable screen phone with advanced AI and battery technology on July 12.
Zhao is optimistic about the smartphone industry, citing the convergence of 5G, new materials, and LLM as reasons to remain confident while emphasizing the importance of collective efforts from the industry and supply chain to drive innovation.
