In the fourth year of global commercialization of 5G, Meng said China already had 561 million 5G users, with 5G phones accounting for 78.8 percent of shipments.
On the consumer side, 5G has accelerated the emergence of new applications such as cloud phones, connected vehicles, naked-eye 3D, and XR immersive experiences. In the industrial field, 5G must become an integral part of the production system.
Since commercialization, there is increasing expectation of breakthroughs and transformative innovations. Technology integration and management transformation are particularly important.
Forward-thinking, open-minded
Meng Wanzhou pointed out that transformation is not just a technical issue; it is more about personnel. It requires the reconstruction of forward-thinking and open-minded approaches to challenges.
Before the era of 6G, Meng believes that 5.5G has become inevitable.
According to Huawei's definition, 5.5G means full-scenario Internet of Things and L4-level autonomous driving with a tenfold improvement in network performance.
Massively complex system
Meng said that the network characteristics of 5.5G, include downlink speeds of tens of gigabits and uplink speeds of gigabits. Transitioning from 5G to 5.5G will better serve high-end manufacturing and bring many commercial opportunities.
