China’s first cruise liner set for June 6 launch

The Adora Magic City, China’s first domestically-built large cruise ship, will be launched on June 6.  Over 90 percent of the work has been completed.

The liner, owned by CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Ltd., measures 323.6 meters with a gross tonnage of 135,500. The Adora can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers in its 2,125 cabins. She features a 16-deck superstructure with various entertainment facilities.

The cruise ship will undergo two sea trials following the launch, with the first scheduled for July 15. She will be delivered to the owner during the China International Import Expo in November.

After delivery, a network of international routes will commence between the home port of Shanghai and neighboring countries, as the Adora explores the Maritime Silk Road.
