Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing will work with GAC Aion New Energy Automobile to develop an electric, self-driving car called the “AIDI Plan.”
The move is a significant step towards DiDi’s goal of building a fleet of self-driving vehicles.
DiDi and GAC Aion will create autonomous electric cars for shared mobility services, based on GAC’s AEP3.0 platform.
By 2025, the first model will be integrated into DiDi’s ride-hailing network.
