The 4th Double Five shopping festival in Shanghai will kick off on Sunday along with the May Day holiday, with more than 1,000 promotional activities. The event runs until the end of June.
This year, the festival will promote cultural landmarks and historic neighborhoods of Shanghai with pop-up events, night fairs and nightlife zones along Suzhou Creek and the Huangpu River.
All districts will distribute consumer vouchers and discount coupons for shopping, dining, culture, and other activities.
Budget e-commerce platform Pinduoduo will be offering 4 billion yuan in price cuts. Duoduo Maicai, Pinduoduo’s grocery unit, will hand out 60 million vouchers in more than 13,000 neighborhoods around Shanghai.
