Local services provider Meituan is recruiting food deliverymen in Hong Kong to take on local delivery companies Foodpanda and Deliveroo.
Meituan is hiring riders as well as “foot soldiers” who deliver food on foot. Eligible riders must be at least 18 years old and with licenses to ride scooters. “Foot soldiers” need to be more than 16 years old.
In the first two weeks after registration, deliverymen earn bonus for every batch of 20 orders they deliver. Hong Kong Economic Times reported that riders will earn up to HK$35,000 (30,000 yuan, US$ 4,500) a month for delivering 500 orders.
Food soldiers can expect their OTE to be around HK$20,000, close to the median wage in Hong Kong.
