Chinese automaker Chery will spend US$400 million (2.8 billion yuan) to build an EV factory in Argentina, according to the Argentine Embassy to China.
Chinese battery maker Gotion High-tech has agreed to supply batteries to Chery from its factory in northern Argentina.
By 2030, the Chery plant is expected to provide 6,000 job posts to locals and produce 100,000 EVs each year. Chery's managers will visit Argentina before March to discuss details of the move.
