Nio has registered a smartphone trademark “Nio Phone” and is still applying for “Nio Buds” and “Nio Watch.”
Nio has been preparing for the phone business for some time. A mock-up of Nio’s smartphone has been circulating on social media for a while. Three cameras sit in the middle of the phone’s back with Nio’s logo at the bottom.
In November last year, Nio founder and CEO LI Bin said the company had teams working on the phones in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
“Those who want a new phone in the coming year, especially android users, don’t bother browsing other brands,” he said.
