Genshin Impact by Shanghai’s MiHoYo Co., Ltd. again topped the list of top grossing Chinese-made games in overseas markets in January.
Since its debut in September 2020, the open-world RPG game has brought more than US$4 billion (27.35 billion yuan) into MiHoYo, topping the sales charts in more than 30 countries including Japan and the United States.
Match-three game Puzzles & Survival ranked the second on the list. In the past two years, it has achieved a global turnover of 5.6 billion yuan. Its publisher 37Games first released it in 2012.
Tencent’s PUBG MOBILE trails behind at the third place. In December last year, the free-to-play battle royale game reached US$9 billion in global player spending since its launch in March 2018. By the end of 2018, it had racked up 1.1 billion installs worldwide across the App Store and Google Play.
