The COMAC C919, China’s homegrown large jetliner, will start commercial passenger flights as early as the end of February, according to China Eastern Airlines Monday.
Earlier in the day, the China Eastern app showed flights MU9191 and MU9192 from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport on February 28 would be operated by the C919. The airline later apologized for the error, describing it as the result of “testing.”
China Eastern said flights may commence as early as late February.
