LI Yifeng, 35, a popular Chinese actor and singer, has admitted to soliciting prostitutes and has been detained for 15 days, Beijing Police said on Sunday.
Sponsors, including fashion house Prada and watchmaker Panerai have ended partnerships with Li.
Rumors were circulating online on September 10 when Li was removed from the 2022 Mid-Autumn Festival Gala on CCTV.
Li and his studio issued statements denouncing the rumors as “maliciously fabricated by people with ulterior motives.” The statements were later removed.
