On July 2, China Eastern Airlines increased the number of flights between Shanghai and Beijing to four, rising to 11 on July 4.
Since April, China Eastern Airlines only kept one round-trip flight per day on the Beijing-Shanghai route, the only airline still maintaining the route at the time.
Juneyao Airlines, Air China, Hainan Airlines and other airlines resumed Beijing-Shanghai routes from July 3, with up to 14 regular flights.
On July 4, there were 32 flights from Shanghai to Beijing and 23 from Beijing to Shanghai, according to Trip.com.

Economy class tickets for Beijing-Shanghai are close to full price. The ticket for a China Eastern Airlines flight on July 4 was 1,960 yuan, 99 percent of the previous price.
Shenzhen Airlines economy class tickets are full-price at 1,960 yuan, and Hainan Airlines ticket prices are 64 percent cheaper, or 1,250 yuan.
After the asterisk for the travel code of all Chinese residents was removed on June 29, the number of bookings for air tickets departing from Shanghai within two hours increased by 100 percent compared with yesterday and 237 percent compared with the same time last week.
Rail travel between the two cities is also being resumed. Currently, there are 27 trains departing from Shanghai to Beijing every day.
