On June 10, BYD’s market value exceeded 1 trillion yuan, while its share price rose nearly 7 percent, a new high. BYD is the first self-owned auto brand to join the trillion-dollar market value club.
BYD is third in the world with a market value of US$129 billion (860 billion yuan), surpassing Volkswagen. BYD is the only Chinese auto company in the top 10.
In April, BYD announced that it would stop production of conventional fuel vehicles and become a pure EV company.
