CSSC Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Mansion have agreed on terms for construction of six 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers with Japan’s NYK. The deal is worth over 8 billion yuan (US$1.2 billion). Since the beginning of this year, Hudong-Zhonghua has received a total of 17 LNG carrier orders.
Hudong-Zhonghua is a subsidiary of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, its business covers shipbuilding, offshore engineering and non-shipping. In 2008, it built and delivered China’s first large LNG carrier.
