At the close on April 26, China's three major A-share indexes all hit new lows. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.44 percent to 2886.43 points, the Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.66 percent, and the ChiNext Index fell 0.85 percent.
A total of more than 3,900 stocks fell, and nearly 300 stocks fell by their limit.
The net purchase of northbound funds was 1.5 billion yuan (US$200 million) including net sales of 278 million yuan through Shanghai Stock Connect and a net purchase of 1.8 billion yuan through Shenzhen Stock Connect. Turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges was 839 billion.
