Chinese stock markets fell on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 5.13 percent to 2928.51. The Shenzhen Component Index was down 6.08 percent to 10,379.28 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board, fell 5.56 percent and closed at 2,169 points.
Among all 4,774 shares trading in China, only 151 went up on Monday, over 760 hit the limit down.
In Hong Kong, Hang Seng Index fell 3.73 percent to 19,869.34 points. Hang Seng China Enterprises Index once lost 4.13 percent, while Hang Seng TECH Index slumped over 4.87 percent.
