Daniel Zhang, chairman and CEO of Alibaba, has stepped down as legal representative and chairman of Tmall and Taobao, with DAI Shan taking over.
Zhang joined Alibaba Group in 2007 as Taobao’s CFO. When Tmall was made independent in 2011, Zhang became president. Since 2013, Zhang has served as the COO of Alibaba Group. He has been a member of the board since 2014 and is a founding member of Alibaba Group Partners.
Dai joined Alibaba Group at its founding in 1999. Currently, she oversees Greater Taobao, B2C Retail, Taocaicai, Taobao Deals, and 1688.com.
