China State Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua, China Shipbuilding Trading, and Japan’s MOL are to build four 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers for QatarEnergy at a cost of US$760 million (4.8 billion yuan) for delivery before the end of 2025.
Hudong-Zhonghua has taken 11 large-scale LNG carrier orders this year. This order is part of a greater China Shipbuilding – Qatar deal, the largest shipbuilding export contract ever signed by a Chinese company.
