Huawei CFO MENG Wanzhou appeared at a press conference on the company’s annual report on March 28, her first public appearance since she was released from house arrest in Canada last September.
In 2021, Huawei’s global sales revenue was 636.8 billion yuan (US$99.9 billion), down 28.6 percent; net profit, however, increased 75.9 percent to a record 113.7 billion yuan. Meng said that Huawei was smaller, but profitability and cash flow are growing, making Huawei more capable of dealing with uncertainty.
“The world has changed so much,” Meng said. “Over the past months, I’ve been learning and trying to catch up.”
