China Telecom and China Unicom built and shared more than 690,000 5G base stations last year, covering all counties. Last year, China Telecom’s 5G penetration rate reached 50.4 percent, the industry leader.
In 2021, China Telecom’s revenue was 434 billion yuan (US$68 billion), an increase of 11.3 percent. Net profit attributable to shareholders was 26 billion yuan, up 24.4 percent.
