JD Logistics’ revenue grew 42.7 percent to 105 billion yuan (US$17 billion) in 2021 but the company made a loss of 15.7 billion yuan four times as much as in 2020.
The company blamed expansion and the pandemic for its losses.
More than half of the revenue came from orders outside the JD e-commerce ecosystem, a goal set in 2017 when JD Logistics started operating independently.
