Bubble tea chain Hey Tea plans to let go as many as 30 percent of its employees and will not pay employees the 2021 annual bonus, according to media outlet Sina Finance.
Sina reported that Hey Tea had fired its whole information security team and half of the store development team.
In response to Jiemian’s inquiry, Hey Tea claimed to have laid off only a few under-performing staff, a regular management call. All annual bonuses were paid before the Spring Festival, the company added.
