Huawei has released the latest edition of its Intelligent World 2035 report, outlining 10 key propositions it says will shape the development of an AI-driven economy and digital infrastructure.
The report argues that agentic AI is shifting the digital world from an application-centered model to one built around autonomous agents. These systems continuously perceive their environment, reason and make decisions, call tools and interact with users, generating and processing large volumes of tokens in the process.
Huawei estimates that annual global token consumption could rise 100,000-fold by 2035, with AI agents accounting for more than 90% of traffic. Such growth would place far greater demands on computing power, networks and cloud infrastructure than traditional internet applications, the report said.
Huawei used that projection as the basis for 10 research priorities and key propositions on the path toward what it calls an "intelligent world."
