China's FDI totals 693.18 billion yuan in Jan–Nov, commerce ministry says

China attracted 693.18 billion yuan (about US$98 billion) of foreign direct investment in the first 11 months of 2025, down 7.5% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Commerce said on Dec 19.

A total of 61,207 foreign-invested enterprises were newly established during the January–November period, up 16.9% year on year. FDI inflows in November alone rose 26.1% from a year earlier.

By sector, manufacturing absorbed 171.72 billion yuan of foreign investment, while services accounted for 506.29 billion yuan. High-tech industries attracted 221.26 billion yuan, with investment in e-commerce services, medical instruments and equipment manufacturing, and aerospace equipment manufacturing increasing 127%, 46.5% and 41.9% respectively.

By source, actual investment from Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom grew 67%, 47.6% and 19.3% respectively, including investment routed through free ports, the ministry said.
