Singapore‘s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded six contracts to procure 660 new electric buses — 360 single-deck and 300 double-deck models — the agency announced on December 15.
The successful tenderers include ST Engineering Mobility Services partnered with CRRC, BYD, Yutong, and Cycle & Carriage Automotive partnered with Zhongtong Bus. The new buses will enter passenger service from late 2026, replacing ageing diesel units approaching the end of their statutory lifespan.
