The 6.2-magnitude earthquake that shook China's Gansu Province and neighboring Qinghai Province at midnight Monday has killed 131 people, authorities said on Wednesday.
A total of 113 people have been killed in Gansu and 18 in Qinghai, with more than 900 people injured.
The Gansu authorities said that as of 3 pm on Tuesday, the rescue work in Gansu has been finished. The focus of the efforts shifted to the treatment of the injured and the resettlement of the affected population.
