Former Ant Group CEO ventures into agricultural business

HU Xiaoming, the former CEO of Alibaba's fintech arm Ant Group, said on Weibo that he has established an agricultural company called Yimiba (1.8 meters), selling seafood like scallops and yellow croakers in Hema, the grocery business of Alibaba.

He said that today's agriculture requires more technological innovation in areas such as high-quality breeding, farming and aquaculture, and facility agriculture. China needs more young people and talents from the internet and technology industries to enter the agricultural field, collaborate with farmers and fishermen, work with breeding and farming experts, and agricultural professionals, and collaborate deeply with agricultural research institutions, universities, and experts to pool more resources for rural revitalization.

Hu said that through continuous refinement of products, Yimianba will also continue to innovate in various aspects of agriculture, such as breeding and seedling cultivation, feed improvement, planting and aquaculture, disease prevention and control, deep processing, cold chain logistics, and credible traceability.
