Hema Fresh, the grocery spin-off of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group has suspended new memberships or renewals since December 13, the company said on Monday.
An insider close to Hema told Jiemian News that Hema is transforming discounting. In the future, once all products have completed their price reductions, there will be no need to purchase an additional membership to enjoy lower prices. This move aims to make high-quality and low-priced products more accessible to more customers, the source said.
