The success of the new AITO M7, the product of Seres and Huawei cooperation, means over 3,000 workers on two shifts with plans to hire another 2,000.
Since its launch on September 12, the M7 has accumulated over 100,000 orders and Seres faces the practical challenge of increasing production to over 30,000 a month by next year. To meet the goal, Seres will hire 2,000 more workers.
The assembly line requires approximately 600 workers. Some key points in the assembly line have achieved 100 percent automation. With over 3,000 robots involved in the process, the factory is designed to be operated by the smallest possible number of humans.
Ensuring supply chain stability is crucial for increasing production capacity. Seres has formed teams to work on-site at supply chain enterprises, collectively managing material supply and other related issues. Some core suppliers have even established new production bases near the Seres factory for more efficient support.
The AITO M9 is set to be launched on December 26, with blind pre-orders already exceeding 33,000. To meet that demand, Seres has introduced a super-sized die-casting machine.
