This year's Singles Day shopping event has concluded, and have released rankings for product categories. Despite being a little unloved since its release, the iPhone 15 series remains the phone dearest to Chinese hearts.
According to JD.com, the top three phones were the iPhone 15, 15 Pro Max and 15 Pro. On Tmall's chart, it’s iPhone followed by Huawei, with Xiaomi in third.
In 2019, Apple joined the Singles Day battle for the first time with discounts on the iPhone 11 series in flagship stores on Tmall and JD.com.
This strategy has been continued since then, and this year was no exception. The iPhone 15 was priced as low as 5,198 yuan with discounts of around 600 yuan.
The iPhone 15 series has brought good returns to Apple. In the fourth fiscal quarter of this year, Apple's revenue decreased by only 1 percent year-on-year, but the revenue of the iPhone product line was US$44 billion (320.73 billion yuan), an increase of 3 percent, and the only Apple hardware to show growth this quarter.
Beyond Apple, Xiaomi emerged as the standout domestic phone during Singles Day. Key models were the Redmi K60, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and the recently released Xiaomi 14 series.
CEO LEI Jun announced that Xiaomi's total revenue for this year's Singles Day reached 224 billion yuan.
