Recycled clothes, gigantic Lego model, sustainable materials: What to expect at the 6th CIIE

The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai, featuring 289 of the world’s top 500 companies.

The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai, featuring 289 of the world’s top 500 companies.

100 percent recycled fabrics 

At last year’s CIIE, Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo debuted 100-percent recycled products. 

Nanodesign technology gives the clothes a fluffy touch and offers waterproof, anti-static, and easy-to-clean features. For their classic fleece series, Uniqlo plans to introduce 16 new designs made from 1 recycled material, along with a new series of fleece T-shirts.

Gigantic 3D Lego model

The Lego booth covers over 400 square meters, providing an immersive Lego experience for visitors.

Huang Guoqiang, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Lego Group China said that this year was Lego's sixth consecutive participation in the CIIE. Lego looks forward to connecting with more Chinese consumers through the CIIE and exploring the power of play together.

Sustainable materials and eco-friendly travel

Tire maker Michelin has a tire made from sustainable materials.

Fei Ye, President of Michelin China, said that Michelin Group's goal is to use 100 percent bio-based, renewable, and recyclable sustainable materials for all its tires by 2050.

Fei also pointed out that Michelin's subsidiary, ResiCare, will enter the Chinese market to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle and shift from an exhibitor to an investor.

Ikea’s Chinese New Year Collection

This year, Ikea has a 360-square-meter booth inspired by Chinese gardens.

Ikea will debut two new products: FÖRSTA from the Chinese New Year collection, and Nytillverkad from Ikea’s 80th anniversary collection.

Ruan Linjuan, Vice President of Ikea China, said that as a long-time friend of CIIE and six-year exhibitor, Ikea wants to continue their collaboration with Chinese partners.
