Two quarters of decline in shipments in the Chinese phone market have led to a year-on-year decrease of 5 percent.

During this period, Honor secured an 18 percent market share, shipping 11.8 million units. Oppo, including OnePlus, claimed the second position with 10.9 million units shipped. Apple followed closely in third place, shipping 10.6 million units. Vivo and Xiaomi secured the fourth and fifth positions respectively. Additionally, the release of the Huawei Mate60 series led to a steady increase in market share, positioning the company closer to the top manufacturers.

Globally, the phone market is doing badly. An 8 percent year-on-year decline is the poorest performance in a decade. Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo concentrated on strengthening their positions in crucial markets like China and India while reducing expansion elsewhere.

Honor, Huawei and Transsion saw small growth overseas with Honor rapidly gaining influence, while Transsion is popular in the Middle East and Africa.
