Huawei has flatly denied any intention of taking over sales of the popular AITO EV. Rumors that all AITO salespeople will sign employment contracts with Smartcom, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huawei have no basis.
As some franchised stores become direct sales outlets, some salespersons have been transferred to Smartcon, responsible for managing sales staff in Huawei stores.
The contracts with Huawei's subsidiary come with higher salaries and are granted only to those with specific educational backgrounds.
Sales of the AITO M7 continue to flourish, with orders surpassing 60,000 as of October 16. On September 25, pre-sales of the M9 began, with more than 15,000 orders so far.
Seres is working around the clock to ensure deliveries, as the surge in sales has strained its production capacity. To reassure customers, AITO is offering subsidies for potential delivery delays, providing 200 yuan per day, up to a maximum of 10,000 yuan.
