AITO, a collaborative venture between Huawei and Seres, is the beneficiary of the buzz created by Huawei's Mate 60. The new phone has attracted flocks of curious customers to Huawei stores, where they can buy an AITO if they feel a sudden urge.
According to the company, sales of the new AITO M7 have reached an impressive 7,000 a day. In less than one month, over 50,000 of the M7 have been sold.
During the National Day holiday customers were found eagerly awaiting demo drives at stores across the country. Additionally, a 70,000-yuan (US$9,800) price cut hasn’t hindered the sales effort.
Drivers still have concerns about the safety of autonomous driving. The new SUV features an advanced collision warning system that is industry-first, offering protection from all sides. The AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) system can operate at speeds of up to 90 km/hr.
By the end of this year, all vehicles developed in collaboration with Huawei will be equipped with an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) capable of functioning in all cities without relying on high-precision maps.
